Opportunity Details... North Bay Canine Rescue and Placement

We are a small Charitable Organization. We are not a 501c3 but are recognized by the IRS as being a Charity.

We are based in Santa Rosa, but we have had volunteers from as far away as Seattle, WA and Burleson TX. For many of the jobs, age is not a factor.

The breeds of dogs that we focus on are Australian Cattle Dogs, Australian Shepherds, Australian Kelpies, Border Collies, McNab Shepherds, Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dogs, and mixes thereof. For more information on these breeds, please visit our website at http://www.northbaycanine.org/herding_breed_characteristics.htm

There are numerous jobs that we need help with.

1. Posting/removing the dogs to/from our site. This job is time sensitive. It sometimes needs to be done once a week, sometimes once a day.
2. Answering/returning calls. We use Google Voice via the computer for this.
3. Writing the shelters/rescues we post dogs for to find out if they still have the dogs. Done once a week.
4. Bookkeeping. Being a small rescue, this is minimal.
5. Working adoption events with the dogs. Generally once a month at PetCo in Santa Rosa.
6. Exercising and training the dogs.
7. Checking the links on our site to make sure they work.
8. Posting our flyers just about anywhere. We will mail you the flyers to post.
9. FOSTERING! We always need foster homes. You can foster even if you do not live in Santa Rosa.
10. Anything you can think of that you can do to help.

If you are interested, please go to http://www.northbaycanine.org/volunteer_form.htm and fill out our Volunteer app or http://www.northbaycanine.org/foster_form.htm and fill out our Foster app.
