Opportunity Details... AARP Oregon Community Action Team
Do you want to help create a community where everyone can age with dignity and purpose? Are you passionate about educating others, advocating for change, or simply connecting with other AARP members and volunteers in your area to do good in your community? AARP Oregon is looking for volunteer leaders to become part of community action teams in communities across Oregon. Community Action Teams are volunteer-driven, staff-supported teams that work for community impact and to enhance AARP presence locally with a focus on community education, outreach and advocacy.
* Work with other AARP volunteers and appropriate staff (s) contact for local impact.
* Champion key issues and enhance AARP presence in communities.
* Lead, coordinate and/or participate in educational and awareness efforts.
* Lead and/or participate in local service and volunteer projects as appropriate.
* Identify and recruit volunteer team members for expanded local outreach.
* Identify and coordinate with other organizations on issues of mutual interest, including serving on working committees and boards.
* Build relationship with congressional delegates, elected officials and other opinion leaders.
