Equipped to Learn Supply Drive for (Name of School/District) helps address cuts in education
Local community members unite to set up students for a year of success
City, ST – (NAME OF SCHOOL) today received school supplies collected by local community members. Numerous boxes (if possible, be more specific) of donated notebooks, pencils and other supplies were presented to the students and faculty. “I am thrilled that our community came together and was able to collect so many supplies for our schoolchildren,” said (NAME, ORGANIZER/ VOLUNTEER) of the school supply drive. “In these dire economic times, it’s heartening to see so many people contribute to ensure the success of future generations.” According to the Kids in Need Foundation, teachers spend between $500 to $1,000 per year on school supplies due to cuts in education. The Equipped to Learn school supply drive, promoted by AARP’s Create The Good, will help ease the burden from these budget shortfalls. The school supply drive was held from (DATES) and relied solely on the efforts of volunteers and donations. Volunteers were inspired to help their community through resources from AARP’s CreateTheGood.org.
