Opportunity Details... Mentor

Inspire. Encourage. Empower&Mentor.
Capital Partners for Education (CPE) is looking for energetic and dependable volunteers to mentor local high school students and has designed a program that is flexible to work with your schedule!
Capital Partners for Education (CPE) is a dynamic college preparatory program dedicated to helping motivated, low-income youth overcome the social and academic barriers that may otherwise prevent them from attending the college of their choice.
Since 1993, CPE has helped nearly 400 students get on track to succeed in high school, college, and beyond. Overall, 99% of our graduates go on to college upon completion of the CPE program. For the past six years, 100% of our graduates have gone on to college.
CPE mentors play three key roles:
" To serve as reliable and consistent role models, resources, and advisors
" To help students fulfill their academic potential
" To help students develop socially and broaden their awareness
Each CPE mentor commits to the following:
" A two-year one-on-one mentoring relationship
" Meeting with your student once per month
" Calling/emailing your student each week
" Being a reliable role model, resource, and friend
There are no special skills required to mentor a CPE student. However, CPE requires that all mentors be at least 21 years old and college graduates.
Please visit www.cpfe.org or email mentor@cpfe.org to learn more about how you can get involved in this incredibly successful program.
