Decoration Day Details
Who: You! Gather a group large or small to come with you! Groups can be coworkers, from a religious group, friends, classmates, or have other connections. The most important thing is your desire to be involved in your community!

What:
1. Before Decoration Day we ask you to do a drive to gather up one of the necessary supplies for Decoration Day. Tell us what item it is, how many you'll bring and get your drive started as soon as possible. If you are unable to gather supplies, monetary contributions would also be welcomed.
And/Or
2. On Decoration Day, come with your group and decorate one or many apartments. You will make beds, hang curtains, and prepare the apartments to warmly welcome families.

Where: Cornerstone is located just over a half a mile from either the Rhode Island Metro Station or the New York Avenue Metro station in North East Washington DC.

Why: Cornerstone is a wonderful new housing resource that enriches our DC Community. We want you to know about it, and help it thrive.

When: Mid May. We don't have an exact day, because we are currently remodeling the building. However, as May draws nearer we will set the date and let you know. Please list your groups expected availability or favorite times to come decorate so we can take them into consideration.

Supplies needed: Here is the list of items we need. Please call Rachel to check in about the item you choose before you start your drive, in case another group already chose the item.
100 Bath Mats
100 Bathroom sized trash cans
100 Kitchen sized trash cans
200 Bath towels (Large)
100 Shower curtains (including rings to hang them)
100 Comforters (we need 80 twin sized and 20 full)
100 Sheet sets (we need 80 twin sized and 20 full)
500 outlet covers (child safe)
